Till today MR has not gone to court, why??
MR should thank MS and RW for establishing the independent judicial system which he destroyed during his term of government. We all know how the judiciary was politicized; you saw the disgraceful manner in which ex-CJ Shirani Bandarnayake was treated and humiliated.
This man has no dignity and acts so shameful; he is so greedy for power now he intends to contest without leaving room for younger generation of politicians to climb the ladder. He will destroy himself because his intention is always to destroy others.

  • Muhunthan Canagey The country has given him two terms as president and voted him out; now he must show the path for others.

    I agree that he finished terrorism, and the people are grateful as he has done his job, which he is expected to do, but have you forgotten of the     creation of the BBS and he never acted upon the violence and hate speech that arose during his term of office?

    He was no better than JR who let the 1983 riots and kept silent and as a result this country saw bloodshed. MR would have created it once again, however this time with the Muslims.

Good luck Roshan you are going against the people's wishes. They have tremendous confidence in MS than MR. It was proved at the last elections. 

    You are still in the era of MR regime, please evolve else your MR and your Dilan are going to be left behind

    Everyone else promised to abolish the presidency but only Maithree has taken legal steps to do so. 
    If it doesn't go far enough, it's because MR supporters, at MR's insis    tence, obviously, didn't want it to. 
    Let's get out of the cesspool of history and rewrite our destiny as a nation that embraces diversity, upholds justice and thrills in fairplay. MR will also make that happen, but only for his supporters

  • Muhunthan Canagey Let's watch after elections.

    Gimhana people should have the right to express their views. However if they commit criminal activity they must be dealt by the law. This is called democracy.

    Might be you don't believe in that thought process; because Gota believed in controlling people by fear. I don't blame you because you would not know what discrimination or injustice is until you are faced with one. Trust me, I have been through it and I know the feeling, and that's when you appreciate democracy and rule of law.

    • Rajit Hewagama You seem to be accusing MP Maheshwaran of being a LTTE supporter and then saying Muhunthan is also one. I don't see how you can come to that conclusion by someone saying we should have a democracy where people are dealt with according to the law. So democracy & the law = LTTE? Then what does that make Sri Lanka?

  • Muhunthan Canagey Although I would not like to comment specifically to the above comment by Gimhana ; it clearly shows how far we are from liberalness and to truly become a democratic nation. Although we title our country to word "Democracy" and constitution which embraces Democracy.

    Sad to see that we still have people with a mentality of race grouping. We as a nation have a long way to evolve, in order to be creative, economically and as human society to be ahead.
